Description

Discover the Most Delicious Sautéed Mushrooms Recipe! Perfectly seasoned and easy to make, these mushrooms are a savory addition to any meal. Ideal for a quick and tasty vegetarian or vegan dinner. Enjoy a flavorful and healthy dish that’s sure to impress!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of fresh mushrooms (white button, cremini, or a mix)
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place a large skillet or frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and butter.
  2. Once the butter has melted and the oil is hot, add the mushrooms to the pan. Make sure they are spread out in a single layer.
  3. Let the mushrooms cook undisturbed for about 5 minutes. This allows them to develop a beautiful golden brown color. After 5 minutes, stir them occasionally, allowing them to cook for another 5–7 minutes until they are evenly browned.
  4. Add the minced garlic and fresh thyme to the pan. Cook for an additional 1–2 minutes.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Notes

Overcrowding the pan causes the mushrooms to steam instead of saute, resulting in a mushy texture. Use a large skillet or cook in batches if necessary.

Also, excessive oil can make the mushrooms greasy. Stick to the recommended amount and adjust as needed.
